USC and California City

USC Architecture Professor Konrad Wachsmann (1964-74) proposed a design for the city hall of California City in 1966. The plans included a roof suspended by high-tension steel cables and anchored in sloped concrete embankments. The plan didn’t require any vertical beams, nor facade. 1, 2
